  • How near is Marathon to Key West, Florida and other area attractions?"
    One Hour to Key West Florida - depending on the traffic. Key West is a great day-trip for the whole family. Great for a visit but it's too much of a tourist trap for most people and coming to the Keys is all about relaxation and spending time with family and friends. Marathon is in the middle of the Keys so it only takes anywhere from a few minutes to visit other islands to an hour or two.   • How much is the deposit to reserve a vacation rental?
    To reserve a rental property, we will require 50% of the total rental cost.
  • When is the final balance due?
    The final balance is due 45 days prior to your arrival.
  • What is the compulsory security deposit?
    A security deposit of $1,000 to $2,000 (depending on pets and number of guests) may be held on behalf of the owners for selected properties against damage or loss caused to the property and its contents. The security deposit will be fully refundable (within 2 weeks of vacating the property) after a satisfactory status report. The security deposit will be fully refunded to your card if there is no damage, breakage or lose. The final balance of the security deposit is paid by credit card.
  • How do I place a reservation for one of your Florida vacation rentals?
    Go to and fill out our Rental form then press send and email it to us so we schedule you and your friends and family in one of our vacation rentals. Once you find the home of your choice, there are two easy-to-follow ways to book your vacation with Florida Keys Vacation Villas. You can choose to place the reservation directly online through our secure website 24/7, or call one of our Florida Keys Vacation Villas rentatives at 1-954-263-2995 the USA.
  • When will I receive my Rental Agreement with check-in and arrival instructions?
    Upon receiving your signed Rental Agreement and final payment, Florida Keys Vacation Villas will e-mail you a Rental Agreement which will include your rental property address, electronic lock keypad code, wireless internet code and directions to get to your property for the duration of your stay.
  • Will I stay in the specific property I have chosen?
    Absolutely yes! Once you have booked either online or through one of the Florida Keys Vacation Villas representatives, the availability calendar will automatically be updated on our website, blocking out your specific dates. If you book with us direct you can save the fees from Airbnb and VRBO websites. This will ensure you always get to stay in the property of your choice! Because we are listed on several booking sites at once we do have to coordinate your stay so someone don’t get to over book with us. If for some unforeseen reason (we don’t have control over other websites and customers have been know to want the same rental at the very same time.) we are required to move you to another property, we will give you prior notice, as well as ensure you are located in a property of similar specifications to the one you have chosen. If this is not permissible, we will be happy to provide you with a full refund.
  • Where do I collect the keys to the property?
    At Florida Keys Vacation Villas, we understand the importance of being able to enjoy every last minute of your holiday! All of our properties have an electronic lock. An entrance code will be sent to you once we receive payment of the final balance. You can go directly from the airport to your villa. But please don’t show up early our locks are on a timer so the cleaning company has enough time to make all the proper arrangements to make your stay wonderful. The locks also will stop on your rental on you’re check-out time so our cleaning crew is able to do it’s job with the time allotted to them.
  • What time can I enter the home and when do I have to depart?
    The home can be occupied any time after 4:00 pm on your day of arrival. The home must be vacated by 10:00 am on your departure date.
  • Early check-in / out?
    Early check-ins or late check-outs can be requested for an additional charge, the charge depends on the property but ranges from $50 to $250 each. The standard check-in time is after 4:00 pm, the early check-in time is after 1:00 pm. The standard check-out time is 10:00 am, the late check-out time is 1:00 pm. All early check-ins or late check-outs are subject to no other reservations in the property at the time of your arrival/departure. As such, these will be tentatively booked and confirmed only within the last 72 hours prior to your arrival. It is the guest’s responsibility to contact us - Florida Keys Vacation Villas within 72 hours of arrival to confirm availability.
  • Are pets allowed in the rental properties?
    Florida Keys Vacations Villas has a pet-friendly policy. Those bringing Fido (no cats allowed) will first have to call us for approval. We will need a copy of current vet vaccinations and rabies shots for every dog (two dog maximum). Dogs can only stay on our first floor unit downstairs because we keep the main house upstairs free of any pet hair for those guest that may have pet allergies. (Any dog hair we find because it was in the main house upstairs for any reason you will loose their entire deposit!) We limit our rentals for two dogs per unit. There is a $500 minimum pet deposit and $200/dog fee for each dog per week. Any damage or extra cleaning needed because of pet hair or fleas will be subject to a minimum $500 penalty fee. All pet stools will be double bagged and disposed of in the garbage cans outside. You are responsible for all clean up for you pet(s) inside and outside or we will charge you a $500 penalty fee if we find any pet urine or stools inside or outside so please keep it clean thanks.
  • Are the kitchens fully equipped?
    All of our vacation rental properties are fully equipped with everything you’ll need, including a refrigerator, freezer, oven, range, microwave, and dishwasher. Additionally, all of Florida Keys Vacation Villas properties come complete with toasters, coffee makers, kettles, blenders, cookware, dishes, glasses, and utensils even plastic ware for children and babies.
  • Are all linens and towels provided?
    Yes, all linens and towels are provided, however, we would recommend taking beach towels for the pool area. Beach towels are found in the outside bathroom by the swimming pool.
  • Are hairdryers provided?
    Yes, hairdryers are provided in all of our properties.
  • Are irons and ironing boards provided?
    Yes, irons and ironing boards are provided in all of our properties.
  • Is there a telephone in the property?
    There is an emergency telephone (landline) provided in all Florida Keys Vacation Villas which may be used for local calls free of charge. Some homes will also provide free national (USA) calls. International calls are bared.
  • Is a housekeeping service provided?
    A housekeeping service can be provided, however, there is an additional charge, which is not included in the rental rate. You can opt to have as many mid stay “trash n tidy” cleans as you like ranging from a daily maid service to a single mid stay clean half way through your stay.
  • Are credit cards accepted?
    We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card. If you want to use a credit card there is an extra 3% charge for credit cards or you can mail a check 45 days before your stay in the name of and to the address of: EverGreen Ventures Holdings of Marathon LLC 411 Sombrero Beach Rd.   • What is your Cancellation Policy?
    By making a reservation and payment the guest accepts and agrees to our terms and conditions which include the cancellation policy outlined below: The rental deposit of 20% is non-refundable. All cancellations must be received in writing and are subject to the following penalty percentages of the total rental fee: 20% from initial date of booking up to 45 days prior to the arrival date. 50% if less than 45 days prior to the arrival date. 75% if less than 30 days prior to the arrival date. 100% if less than 15 days prior to the arrival date. You are reserving a specific property for specific dates. The dates and the property cannot be changed, doing so would effectively be canceling the original reservation, and so the cancellation policy would apply. If the length of stay is reduced from the original dates, the cancellation policy will apply to the nights that have effectively been canceled. Cancellations of the arrangement due to non-payment of the balance by the due date will result in a loss of all monies. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing.
  • Are there any activities in Marathon for children to do?
    In addition to the page "Things to do in Marathon Fl", there is a children’s interactive play area at the local Parks, a playground at Sombrero Beach. You can go for a boat ride check out page charter boats. Go to fishing charter page for charter boats to go fishing. We have toys, games, books and videos for children at our rentals. We also have swimming pool toys and beach toys. A couple of Strollers and a red wagon for children, beach supplies and beach chairs.
  • Are the swimming pools heated?
    The pool is a saltwater swimming pool. Heated to approximately ten degrees warmer than the outside air. If you want it heated it's $200 extra a week.
  • What about Baby Equipment?
    Most or our properties are "Family Friendly" so we provide complimentary use of a portable folding “Pack-N-Play” cribs (which serves as a playpen as well), high chair, booster seats, strollers and red wagon. Optional full-size cribs and double strollers are available to rent for a fee. You'll will have to call a company and make arrangements for the extra equipment so the crib or double stroller will be delivered prior to your check-in time of 4:00 pm and picked up from the property upon your departure.   • What about a BBQ grill?
    Many of our properties have an outside summer kitchen complete with a Gas BBQ. Please check when booking that the home you have selected does indeed have one. A tank of propane is supplied but should it become necessary during the stay, it is the guests’ responsibility to replenish. If the home does not provide one then a Gas BBQ grill can be rented and delivered to your home upon your arrival. A single tank of gas is included and all you’ll need to do is bring the ribs and BBQ sauce!
  • What are Florida Keys Vacation Villas’ Office Hours?
    Our regular office hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST Monday through Sunday. Guests calling to place a reservation or those with general inquiries outside of office hours are able to leave messages on our voicemail system. Florida Keys Vacation Villas will do its utmost to reply to all voicemail messages within the next business day.
  • If we have a problem with the home, what should we do?"
    During regular business hours, you may call us toll-free at 1-954-263-2995 and speak directly to one of Florida Keys Vacation Villas qualified personnel. All issues will be documented and addressed in a timely manner. To ensure your peace of mind, we additionally have a representative on-call 24/7 on our toll-free number, to deal with any emergency situation within your Vacation Rental property.
  • What if I leave personal items behind?
    Vacation rental properties “self-catering” accommodations. We provide complimentary starter soap, toilet paper, and trash bags. Once these items are used, it is the Guest’s responsibility to replenish them.
  • Do I need to pay for pool heat to have the Spa / Hot tub heated?
    Yes. If you would like the spa to be heated you will need to order pool heating with your reservation $200 extra per week. A Hot Tub/spa is not able to be heated on its own. Spillover Spas are connected to the pool using the same water. There is no option to heat only the spa since it shares water with the pool. When you chose to heat the pool in such a set-up, the pool and the spa will heat to a temperature around 80-84ºF. When you turn on the spa mode the system will adjust the valves automatically so that the water from the spa returns back to the spa. This will bypass the pool so the spa gets heated up to somewhere between 94 and 102ºF. If you leave it in Spa mode the pool won’t get any heated water but will cool down.
  • Will heated pools cool down overnight?
    Yes, the pool heaters operate on a timer and they are set to turn on in the morning and turn off in the evening. The pool will cool off overnight when the temperature drops. During colder winter months, heating the pool can be challenging when the water temperature drops overnight. Florida has a temperate climate but we sometimes get cold fronts from the north that can cause overnight temperatures in the low 30’s and 40’s. Under such circumstances the pool heater will not be able to keep the water at 84ºF. This is especially true when the pool heat is provided by an electric heat pump and the outside temperature drops below 55ºF. Electric heating pumps don’t operate efficiently below such temperatures and fail to heat the pool to the desired temperature. This is outside of the Company’s control and regarded as an act of nature. Please note that cold weather does NOT constitute as mechanical failure and no refunds will be given for problems relating to cold weather.

    We are in walking distance if you want to walk .05 mile to Sombrero Beach. Parking is free at Sombrero Beach so you can take the car too.
